The story

This primary bath had a beige, builder-grade look and no focal point. A freestanding tub the homeowners rarely used took up the room's best natural light, while the shower sat small and closed in next door. They wanted a serene, nature-inspired retreat that felt personal, while keeping the tray ceiling, vanities and trim they loved.

The design

Removing the tub opened the plan for a dramatic walk-in shower and a larger walk-in closet. Soft neutrals and misty blue-greens set a calm tone, and botanical accents bring personality without feeling trendy.

Featured details

Statement shower: A custom arched opening with frameless double glass doors, a floor-to-ceiling botanical tile column, and an arched niche whose quartz shelves match the bench and window sill.
Wallcovered tray ceiling: The exhaust fan is wrapped in matching wallcovering so it disappears into the pattern.
Heated mosaic runner: A floral marble mosaic, bordered in gray, leads from the vanities to the shower.
Refinished vanities: The original cabinets were refinished in deep gray, topped with quartz, and paired with polished nickel fixtures and custom-framed mirrors.
Expanded closet: The reclaimed space extended the walk-in closet with custom shelving.
