What Is Design-Build?
Design-build means one firm is responsible for your project from the first sketch to the final walkthrough. The team that designs your space also plans it, prices it, and manages its construction from start to finish.
At Platinum Renovations, our design and project management team works alongside a trusted group of vetted trade partners, many of whom have worked with us for years. You have one point of contact, and one firm accountable for the result.
Two Ways to Remodel
The traditional way
Design, then bid, then build.
You hire a designer or architect, then take the finished plans out for bids. The builder sees the design for the first time when pricing it. If the plans and the budget don't match, you go back to the drawing board, and you're often the one caught in the middle when questions come up on site.
The design-build way
One team, one conversation.
Design and construction happen together from the start. Every material choice is priced as it's made, so the design and the budget grow up together. When a question comes up mid-project, it's answered by the team that designed the space.
What That Means for You
A budget you understand early.
You see how choices like cabinetry, tile, and layout changes affect cost while you're still designing, not after.
Fewer surprises.
The team managing your build planned it, down to the details behind the walls, and coordinates every trade partner on site.
One point of accountability.
No finger-pointing between separate design and construction companies. We're accountable from start to finish.
A cohesive result.
Design intent carries all the way through to the last piece of trim.
Why Design-Build Costs More Up Front, and What You Get for It
A design-build quote often looks higher than a construction-only bid. That's because it includes the design, 3D planning, selections, and project management that a build-only bid leaves to you, or leaves out entirely. Those costs don't disappear in the traditional route; they show up later as design fees, change orders, and your own time.
We'd rather show you the full picture on day one.
